Antardhwani Leadership Conclave

Mysuru, January 27, 2024

The Antardhwani Leadership Conclave second time at Vijnana Bhavan, University of Mysore on January 27, 2024

The Antardhwani Leadership Conclave returned to Mysuru with a bang for the second time at Vijnana Bhavan, University of Mysore, on January 27, 2024. This was the second such conclave after the grand success of the inaugural one in the city last November.

The second conclave, that saw around 400 students from various colleges of Mysuru, inspired youths to focus on hard work and determination to excel in life and become true leaders. It urged them to be in control of their consciousness, become their own hero, and never give up on thoughts and dreams. And that it is important to listen to our consciousness and reflect.

The conclave speakers — Dr BS Ajaikumar (founder Antardhwani & Executive Chairman, HCG Cancer Centres); Dr Vissu Paul (TEDx speaker, motivational coach and career counsellor); and Prof. Suttur Malini (HoD, Genetics & Genomics, University of Mysore) — delivered insightful and powerful talks on how to be a leader and how to turn negative life situations into positive ones to the hundreds of cheerful students.

Welcoming the audience, Seethalakshmi S and Rahul Nandan, the co-founders of Antardhwani, explained the concept and vision of the leadership movement, followed by Madhu N, program head of IHDUA, highlighting the socio-rural projects of Dr Ajaikumar through this Mysuru-based non-governmental organization.

Dr BS Ajaikumar

Urging students to develop independent thinking capacity and shun blindly following a person or an ideology, Dr Ajaikumar, the lead speaker of the conclave, said, “Conscience is our keeper and all of us must be ‘boss’ of our conscience. When we stop thinking independently, we succumb to someone else’s ideas and thoughts, and become their blind followers. And, that leads to hero worship, which we must never do. We must question and reflect on everything. All of us are our own hero and we need not be swayed easily by others.”

“There is nothing called ‘impossible’ or ‘failure’. Failure teaches us lots of lessons. We need to introspect, learn and move forward,” said Dr Ajaikumar, also the chairman of Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology, Mysuru.

He stressed how failure and sorrow are natural and integral learning experiences in everybody’s life and these learnings make a person a better human being and enhances his or her capability to handle challenges.

Dr Vissu Paul

Motivational coach Dr Vissu Paul, with a life tag of ‘nothing to everything’, urged students not to keep going back to their past and move on towards their future. With a few techniques on how to overcome failure, he called upon the students to rebuild their life if they have faced any failure.

Narrating his own life of struggles, from having just a meal a day to spending days on the streets of Mysuru to earn a livelihood, Paul offered invaluable lessons on how to turn negative situations in life into positive ones, take control of life and excel in it. A recipient of Dr Puneeth Rajkumar Award and a sought-after career and leadership counsellor, Paul inspired students to dream and touch the sky. He particularly pointed towards the back benchers at the auditorium and instilled confidence in them saying they all will become heroes one day.

Prof. Suttur Malini

The inspiring talk continued with the University of Mysore’s very own Prof. Suttur Malini speaking about her life’s struggles and hurdles, and how nothing could stop her from getting to where she is today. “All of you must have a purpose or a goal in life and the hunger to achieve it. You must not fear challenges in life but face and fight them,” she said.

She stressed on the importance of being healthy, mentally, and physically active and eating right. Also, that youths must make right use of technology and social media, use them to their benefit rather wasting time and energy on seeing and posting useless videos, updating frequent life status, and getting hooked for hours on them.

Antardhwani is an independent think tank that stimulates thought provoking debate and dialogue to help understand and adapt to the changing society. The Antardhwani Leadership Conclave endeavours to create rural and urban communities that are informed, resilient and responsible. The conclave seeks to bring like-minded people together from diverse backgrounds, communities, and regions to create an empowered society.
