Taxpayers’ rights & duties

One of our major focuses is to address the misuse of taxpayers’ money in India. The taxpayers look to greater certainty and fairness in the levy, assessment and collection of taxes, and most of all the right use of their hard earned money paid as taxes. In this endeavour, we will collaborate with various stakeholders in the society, stimulate public debate and influence the political leadership to ensure greater transparency and accountability in public spend.

RTI and Public Interest Litigation

We will keep questioning the government, lawmakers and authorities about the way public money is used or misused. In public interest, we will not hesitate to use the weapons of RTI and PIL in areas and issues where there is a clear violation of law. We are already working to identify and pursue misuse of the myriad cesses which every Indian citizen pays knowingly or unknowingly.
